With a commitment to a healthier tomorrow, Foston supports the president of the American Medical Association and AMA leadership in the development of speeches, talking points, and related content for national and international engagements. 

In this capacity, she writes about a range of current and emerging topics and their impact on patients and physicians, including the overturn of Roe v. Wade, reproductive rights, gender-affirming care, government interference, the use of AI, digital tools, the expansion of telehealth, physician workforce shortages, social determinants of health, widening health disparities - and the continuing need to achieve greater health equity.

Foston combines her professional writing about health with her practical approach to wellness as a fitness instructor at the YMCA USA.  She is also an adjunct lecturer in the graduate program at Northwestern University, where she teaches the principles of news reporting, story development, and social media integration. On her podcast, "Pivotal Moment with Nikitta Foston," she motivates her audience with inspiring stories from people in news, sports and entertainment about their pivotal moment - the moment that changed it all.
